Fundraising Opportunities -- Lucinda Pins
In just a few short weeks we have raised over $800. The pins are easy to sell. We are looking for parishioners who are willing to take the pins to work with them to sell to their co-workers, or any other ideas for selling the pins. Contact Debbie Luchka at 647-5014.

Outreach: Food Closet

  • Join us and members of NS Baptist Church in the fun of gathering and sorting the Thanksgiving meal "baskets" for each of our 47 families for pickup that day. The fun starts at 6:00am on Saturday, December 19.

  • The fixings for the Thanksgiving and Christmas baskets combined cost close to $3000. Your donations in any amount are always welcome. Each basket costs $30. Please note "holiday dinners " on the memo line of your check.

  • ALL Donations of food and $$ made before December 31 are included in computing our share of Feinstein's Million Dollar fall Challenge.

  • Food Closet items in need: Jelly, Canned Fruits, Coffee

— Thank you, Jane Dempsey, Food Closet Director

Bishop John Zawo in RI
Please visit the website (http://ezoandri.blogspot.com) for details and fascinating, as well as heartbreaking, news of Ezo, as well as a letter from his assistant Levi in Ezo describing the terrible violence against his people by the Lords Resistance Army even as you read this.

Food Closet Update

  • Each family that visits our Food Closet gets to visit just ONCE each month. By the middle of the month the shelves are pretty bare. When you do your food shopping this week, please buy a few extra sale items for the Food Closet.
  • Gardeners and Growers, please leave fruit and vegetables in the Undercroft refrigerator for the Food Closet families. The refrigerator is open and people can bring stuff in any time.
  • A reminder to children attending Sunday School: your class receives a sticker on the board for each food item you bring to your Sunday School room for the Food Closet.

Trinity Church Launches Major Capital Campaign!
As of July 2009, the pledge amount is $146,279 from 76 parish families. Our goal is $350,000. We can break ground when we reach $250,000.

Trainers Needed
We are looking for volunteers to be trained to teach a class in money management. The Episcopal Diocese has received funding from Domestic Bank (as penance for questionable lending practices) to provide Financial Wellness training to members of our community. Training will be provided. Classes start in the Fall. Trinity has offered our space for classes. Classes will be held throughout the Diocese. For more information on this very interesting opportunity ... click here

Recipe
It was so great to see so many friends at our Prime Rib Dinner. Click here for the Macaroni and Cheese recipe that was served Saturday and for the Corned Beef Supper.

Important Survey
DISCUSSION ON A PROPOSAL TO CHANGE THE TIME OF SUNDAY SERVICES
Up for discussion is a biggie: Changing our Sunday Service schedule to move Sunday School (aka Youth Formation) between the two Sunday morning services in Fall 2010 to look something like this:

    8:00am service
9:15 to 10:00am Sunday School (aka Youth Formation) and Adult Formation/Bible Study
10:15am service - Children's Liturgy would still be available during the 10:15 service

Some thoughts that have been brought up:

  • This schedule provides a common time (between the two services) for Community, such as a shared coffee hour, Ministries Fair, etc.
  • Providing Sunday School/Youth Formation between the two services gives families the option of attending either service. This is a way to balance attendance at both services.
  • Similar schedules have been used successfully by many other Churches for many years.

Please join the discussion ... feel free to email Rev. Pam or comment on the Trinity Blog or the Trinity Facebook page. Thank you, in advance, for participating in this survey!

St. George's Kitchen
Trinity Church, as part of the Outreach Committee Program, has again committed to serve on several Sundays at the soup kitchen at St. George's Episcopal Church in Central Falls. We help prepare and serve the meal and then we help with the clean-up. It takes about 3 hours on a Sunday afternoon and would require a very small amount of time total as we are needed for only five Sundays a year. If this is a mission you might enjoy, please contact Milt or Phyllis Schumacher at 647-3905.

Save Your Old Cell Phones & Printer Cartridges!
Join our "Planet Green" Inkjet, Laser Cartridge & Cell Phone Fundraising/Recycling Program. Simply bring all used cell phones, inkjet and laser cartridges to church and drop them in the basket in the undercroft outside the church office. Ask family and friends to save all their ink cartridges, and ask at your place of work if you can have the used cartridges for our fundraiser. We'll send everything in for recycling, raising funds and keeping our planet green, too! Together we can make a BIG difference!

Note: Please do not drop off TONER CARTRIDGES as the recycling company does not accept them at this time.

Campership Ideas & Donations Needed
Each year we send several of our parish children to ECC camp on a "Campership." Please help us increase our Campership Fund this year!
