The Episcopal Conference Center is a wonderful camp for children of all ages and
denominations to attend in the summertime. We would love for more children in our Parish to be able to attend camp. Last year we were able to send six of our children to camp on
a "Campership." This is a full paid scholarship (less the registration fee) for a child to go for one week at ECC.
The new budget that was passed does not give us the liberty of sending the children to
camp through the general operating funds. Therefore, we are going to be coming up with a "Campership Fund." We already have a baseline that was graciously donated by Jane
Gaddes. However, we need to be able to raise more money for the campers.
Deb Ruggieri, Emma Robinson, and I are starting a new committee to come up with
policies and fundraising for this. We need your help. We need to come up with some unique fundraisers that will be strictly for the Campership Fund. Some ideas are starting
to flow in, but every idea will be considered.
Also, you can feel free to just donate some "coffee" money to the "Campership Fund" jar
that will be found in the Narthex on a weekly basis, this will add up to possibly one or two campers going to camp this year! You can also feel free to make any monetary donation
you are comfortable with. If you are giving cash, please place it in a clearly marked envelope reading "Campership Fund," or if you are writing a check, please make sure to
put "Campership Fund" in the memo, and we will gladly put it on your donation statement for tax purposes.
